This dog lives by a temple where the local people feed her and Hansika had a request to treat her for Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT). This is a unique, contagious cancer transmitted between dogs via living cancer cells. It primarily spreads through sexual contact or direct contact with lesions. Tumors appear as red, friable, cauliflower-like masses typically found on external genitalia, though they can also occur on the face or nose. She will now be treated for this cancer and once treatment is complete she will be spayed.
On Sunday 6th September, trustees received an urgent request for medical treatment from Hansika, for a dog which villagers reported had been hit by a lorry. The images we received can not be shared due to the gravity of the injuries. Surgery was agreed from funds raised, sadly whilst the surgery was successful, sadly a day later the dog passed away. Without vital funds this dog would have suffered from the serious injuries it sustained. The harsh reality of the work we continue to do. #please support us
